Thanks to its clever design and built-in wireless wizardry, this new pet monitor allows pet owners to keep an eye on their fluffy friends from work, on the train or while sipping overpriced coffee at any number of trendy coffee houses.

Those without pets but convinced that their home is haunted or that their toys come to life while they’re out, meanwhile, may be interested to know that the camera can be controlled via smartphone and features full rotation and zoom capabilities!

Costing 39,900 yen (US$475!!), Chuo Systems Research’s Remoca RMC pet monitor allows pet owners to observe their pet at home via any Android or iOS-operated smartphone.

By connecting it to a wireless router, the unit can be configured via the included software so that it can be accessed from anywhere in the world provided you have an internet connection.

As well as sensing movement and automatically capturing and sending images of your pet to your phone while you’re out, the unit includes a self-filling water dispenser and a small snack holder with a cover that can be opened remotely should you feel that your pet deserves a treat or would like to tempt them to come closer to the camera.
