Japanese Man Confirms the Blindingly Obvious: Mouth Ulcers and Lemon Juice Do Not Mix

As well as providing you with entertainment and up-to-the-minute news, we at RocketNews24 feel that it is also our responsibility to provide our readers with vital tips for physical well-being and emotional happiness. It’s for this reason that, on this fine Friday as we inch ever closer to the moment that we exchange our computer screens for a nice big plate of fried gyoza dumplings and an ice-cold beer, we bring you this video courtesy of our friends at Niconico.

Although the outcome is about as surprising as what happens when you tell your dog not to eat a birthday cake while you’re out of the room, this video serves as a reminder of the stupidity of our fellow man and that open wounds and citric acid do not go well together.

Canker sores, mouth ulcers, whatever you want to call them, they’re no fun. They sneak up on you like ninjas in the night and, if you’re feeling run down of don’t maintain a properly balanced diet, break out in the blink of an eye, making every bite of food or sip of hot coffee complete agony. And you can forget about kissing with that special someone- even the slightest amount of pressure usually has the afflicted member recoiling and wincing like someone just dragged their fingernails down a blackboard.

So if you ever find yourself with one of these things, don’t, for the love of all that is good and pure, let anything acidic come into contact with it.

The following video shows a man whom we can only describe as a potential candidate for a future Darwin Award attempting to “heal” his own sizeable mouth ulcer by administering a direct dose of vitamin C from a lemon.

“Guys, if you don’t get enough vitamins in your diet, this is what happens!” our antihero proclaims at the start of his video before showing off his own “kounai en” mouth ulcer. “So now I’m going to try to cure it with… a direct injection of vitamins!”

We’ll leave you now with this unusual gentleman’s video in full. We know what’s going to happen. You know what’s going to happen. But as part of that curious human condition, we just can’t help but sit back and watch it unfold. Enjoy.
