Piko Taro appears in new music video for “I Luv It” by South Korean superstar Psy【Video】

The viral hit makers from Japan and South Korea get together to show us their awesome new dance moves.

Ever since Piko Taro took the world by storm last summer with his viral YouTube hit “Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen“, people everywhere have been drawing comparisons between him and fellow YouTube superstar Psy, who broke records with his 2012 hit “Gangnam Style“.

The two stars do have remarkably similar styles, with memorable outfits, larger-than-life personas, catchy tunes, and easy-to-follow dance moves being their winning formula for success. If there was any speculation of rivalry between the two performers however, those rumours can be put to rest, as Piko Taro has now popped up in Psy’s new music video clip for his latest hit “I Luv It“.

Take a look at the clip below, with Piko Taro’s appearance coming in at 0:35.

Despite being on screen for a total of four seconds, the leopard-print clad Piko Taro is unmissable in his cameo appearance, as he flashes his signature grin while putting his hands together to create cute heart-shapes with all the enthusiastic cuteness of a Japanese schoolgirl.

▼ Surrounded by four Psy’s in a pink paint-splattered room, Piko Taro hams it up and we LUV IT.

We can’t think of anyone better to appear alongside lyrics that say “Who you are LUV IT, Who they are LUV IT, Even if you’re a hater I LUV IT so much.

To add to the theme of international non-discriminatory love, Psy even indulges in a spot of calligraphy during the clip, showing us the Chinese character for the word “love”.

With dancing girls, scenic settings and big group numbers containing multipe Psy’s, this clip has all the makings of another international hit for the 39-year-old singing-dancing superstar.

As one of the title tracks from Psy’s latest album, titled 4×2=8, the music video for “I Luv It” has already racked up more than five million views since appearing on YouTube less than a day ago.

Just like the galloping, horse-riding move seen in “Gangnam Style“, this new song comes with a number of smooth steps that have us wanting to get up and dance like nobody’s watching!

While no official explanation has been given for Piko Taro’s appearance in Psy’s new music video, it’s not the first time Piko has rubbed shoulders with famous stars. Having already appeared alongside Justin Bieber and Cookie Monster and Elmo, Psy is Piko Taro’s latest celebrity crush, and given his love for unique collaborations, who knows where he’ll be popping up next!
