Japanese adult film star offers full marriage ceremony with fans for 350,000 yen

Fans of adult films were filled with a bittersweet mixture of emotions earlier this month as Sola Aoi, a mainstay of Japanese pornographic cinema for many years, announced her marriage. On the one hand, Aoi no longer being single will make it harder for some men to fantasize about her, but on the other, her description of her husband as “neither handsome nor rich” also no doubt has some everyday guys thinking that just maybe they too can one day marry the girl of their adult video dreams.

And lo and behold, along comes Asuka Hoshino, who between 2010 and 2014 starred in dozens of adult films, many with such uninhibitedly straightforward titles as Naive Sex of the Innocent Idol, Surprising Facial, Let’s Have Sex After Class!, and Sex with a Big Man. Hoshino no longer works in the pornography field, but she’s now involved in an enterprise that’s arguably just as startling, as she’s offering fans the chance to participate in a marriage ceremony with her for a fee.

This isn’t some quicky VR event either, but a full-fledged, authentic ceremony planned and provided by wedding coordination company Ambitious. Three weeks before the requested date, the 31-year-old Hoshino and her partner will meet with Ambitious’ employees to plan the ceremony, including picking out and trying on the rental dress and tuxedo the pair will wear.

The ceremony will be held in Tokyo’s fashionable Odaiba neighborhood, and on the big day the pair is asked to arrive early to be dressed in their finery and also have their hairstyling and Hoshino’s makeup done by a professional. They’ll go through a rehearsal, then walk arm in arm down the aisle (Hoshino’s father will not be on hand to give her away), take their positions in front of the altar, and a master of ceremonies will perform the ceremony.

The groom and Hoshino will then exchange rings (provided he’s purchased a pair), he’ll lift Hoshino’s veil, and they’ll have their wedding kiss (cryptically described by Ambitious as being “posed only”). Following the ceremony, a photographer will take pictures of the happy couple, with a half-dozen prints being provided as part of the package, which is priced at 350,000 yen (US$3,125). Rings are not included in this price, and are not required.

However, while the pair will be provided with a commemorative wedding certificate, the union doesn’t appear to be legally binding. As a matter of fact, Hoshino is offering to “marry” three fans as part of the collaboration with Ambitious. Still, this is a rare opportunity to go through an entire wedding ceremony without any lasting repercussions, and interested parties can apply online here through Ambitious’ website.
